The Center for Collaborative Education is seeking to fill the following positions

  • Pilot Schools Program Developer/Coach .  The developer position will coordinate and author a set of field-based guides for use by schools and districts in adopting the Pilot model. This position includes close involvement with Boston Pilot schools as a half-time school development coach. Candidates should have a degree and experience in education, excellent writing skills, be knowledgeable about small schools and urban school reform, and have good facilitation skills to work with teachers and administrators. The Central American Resource Center (CARECEN) of Los Angeles is seeking qualified candidates for a full time After School Programs Coordinator. The After SchoolPrograms Coordinator works under the direct supervision of the Director of Programs and is primarily responsible for the recruitment of students and implementation of CARECEN’s after school tutoring program for elementary, middle & high-school aged youth as well as the implementation of CARECEN’S drop-out intervention program. Head of School, Boston Day & Evening Academy. Boston Day & Evening Academy (BDEA) is a vibrant, innovative, year-round, public high school, serving a unique population of students who are overage for grade level and at high risk of dropping out. Located in the Dudley Square-Roxbury neighborhood of Boston, BDEA is a "second chance" school that serves 350 students in three unique programs that span a twelve-hour day. Working with experienced faculty in an environment that blends strong academics and wrap-around supports, students are given the tools to earn a Boston Public School diploma and reach their fullest potential through a competency-based curriculum that inspires critical and creative thinking, independent learning, and active citizenship. There are currently 50 full and part-time faculty members at BDEA.
As a Massachusetts Horace Mann Charter School, the school has complete autonomy in the areas of curriculum, budget, and staffing and is governed by a 19-member Board of Trustees. The Harbor High School will be an Expeditionary Learning Outward Bound High School located in the Fields Corner area of Dorchester, scheduled to begin with 9th grade students in fall 2009. A co-educational institution, the Harbor High School will serve approximately 320 students in grades 9-12.  Once completed, it will serve as the final piece of a fully inclusive K-12 pathway that includes the O’Hearn Elementary School and The Harbor (Middle) School.  High quality academic work and an emphasis on such habits of character as perseverance, compassion, craftsmanship, self-discipline, and a commitment to service will be central to the Harbor School culture. Middle School Associate Director: Prospect Hill Academy Charter School, a diverse K-12 Cambridge and Somerville-based urban public charter school with the mission of preparing each student for success in college, fostering responsible citizenship, and inspiring a lifelong love of learning, is hiring an Associate Middle School Director (Grades 5-8) for the 2008-2009 school year.
