Pilot Schools are a unique model of school reform that lead to strong student results – increased academic performance and engagement in school.  The essential features of Pilots: autonomy, accountability, small size, and a commitment to equity, can be replicated in other districts and schools.  Forming a network of schools, and having the assistance of a third-party organization, are critical to the success of Pilot Schools.  As school districts across the country look for ways to provide all students access to a good education, beginning the Pilot School path is a journey worth taking.
