Our Staff

Rosann Tung, Research Director

Rosann Tung, Ph.D., Research and Evaluation Director, has used qualitative and quantitative methods to study school change, effective practices, and student outcomes, including producing a biannual report on Boston Pilot school student engagement and performance.  She also provides technical assistance and coaching on data based inquiry to the Boston Pilot Schools.  Prior to CCE, she was a research molecular biologist at Harvard Medical School and then a postdoctoral fellow at the Program Evaluation and Research Group at Lesley University, where she evaluated curriculum implementation and professional development initiatives.

Laurie Gagnon, Senior Research Associate Laurie Gagnon, Senior Research and Evaluation Associate, is currently working on a qualitative study about performance assessment and the Pilot school experience based on in-depth interviews with graduates of three Boston Pilot Schools. She also recently conducted a needs assessment of leadership for a set of reform-oriented schools in the Los Angeles Unified School District and regularly assists Boston and Commonwealth Pilot Schools and teachers in effectively using data to inform decision-making. Before joining CCE, she taught English in Fukui, Japan, and history at Charlestown and Framingham High Schools. She earned a Master’s degree from the Fletcher School at Tufts University where she conducted research about the relationship between power and poverty in Guatemala.
Pamela Stazesky, Senior Research Associate Pamela Stazesky, Ph.D., Senior Research and Evaluation Associate, has over fifteen years experience conducting program evaluations and research studies in public school systems. Her background has focused primarily on using quantitative methods to study school improvement efforts and effective practices as they relate to student outcomes. Currently, she provides technical assistance and coaching on data based inquiry to the Boston Pilot Schools. Prior to CCE, she was the supervisor of Accountability and Assessment office for the Christina School District in Wilmington, Delaware. For ten years, she also served as an Associate Policy Scientist at the Delaware Education Research and Development Center of the University of Delaware. In that capacity, she conducted program evaluations of innovative projects in Delaware elementary, middle, and senior high schools as well as directed various research projects and the statewide annual public poll on the condition of education in Delaware. Dr. Stazesky has also taught mathematics at the middle and high school level as well as undergraduate and graduate courses in elementary statistics.
